Buying IRAQ ???

WOW! The American public has already sent $14 Billion dollars training and Re-building the Iraqi military and $7 Billion a month for the war. We destroyed them in 4 days and now we have been re-building them for more that 2 years now. Come On NOW! Where is this money really going and how long will we allow this to happen? We won WWII in just two years and for a few dollars and a couple of "Food Stamps". What companies or individuals are getting paid and how can I get some? We can train a kid here in 3 months and send him (or her) off to war! The President is now asking for $4 Billion additional dollars to train the Iraqi Military. The Iraqi Military should be some bad ass M' Fer's at that cost. It's like this Administration is at the Strip Club spending the rent money (Our Money). Now we have no money left for the United States. The Gulf Coast will be under water again the next hurricane season be cause we are crying broke and have no money to correct the problem, remember $7 Billion a month. We need that money! The evil fact is that we are spending this money to train the Iraqi military to ensure a certain side wins the up coming Civil War we will leave them with. The government even says that outside agitators only make up 4% of the insurgents force. This means we are fighting Iraqi's not some strange outside terrorist force. The civil war has already started! Iraq is "FUCKED". We are going to leave them with out oil (oil was suppose to pay for this War- Remember) and entrenched in a bloody Civil War for years. We are getting it hard and fast too, this will all cost us trillions of dollars and we will gain nothing in return.

Anonymous ..... It would be sad if that is the only dispute you have with what I wrote.

Who exactly are the 'we' who won the war in two years? The war was not won in 2 years, it lasted 6 long years and a lot of brave and good people died fighting it for the sake of freedom. Your flippant and ignorant comment simply besmirches their memory.

Anonymous ...... next you will side step the true issue again and comment about the "Food Stamps". This was not and accurate history lesson but a comment about what is happening today. Still sad that with the ungodly and criminal acts that committed today in my name (What a JOKE) you stick your head in the sand and cowardly poke it out to teach a history lesson. $14 BILLION and $7 BILLION a day! An unprovoked attack on a country(Do you understand what that means), lies about WMD’s, hundreds of thousands dead and wounded, physically and mentally, Hundreds of Billions spent and stolen and when the United States finally leaves Iraq will be an ISLAMIC Country (Which means no FREEDOM for all) in the beginnings of a bloody Civil War. We will then owe China $100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 at 27 percent interest. Stop the Bush Crime Family!

Your opinions would get more respectful attention if you showed your readers some respect, namely by:

1. Writing in comprehensible English, and:

2. Not saying "fuck."

You're welcome.

Two years? And do you have any idea how much WWII cost? It cost more than 5X GDP! This war - in real terms - is nothing compared to it. You need a lesson in history, math and economics, because you can't understand the concept of inflation adjusting - a billion dollars in 1945 would be like 40 billion today.

That is why you could buy a snadwich for a nickel back then.

DUH.

There is a rational argument to be made against this war. You are embarrassment to those who are trying to make it.

You have my respect, and I think the work fuck works perfectly in this sense.

Let's me be clear. I have less that ZERO interest in U.S. History. The 2 years and Food Stamps joke (In hindsight) may have been a poor attempt at humor. I am very interested in what is going on today. I'm still amazed that with the events as stated earlier obviously intelligent people still focus on the WWII statements. I don't know where some of you are employed but if I performed at such a poor level and made such poor judgments I would be fired. It is amazing that this is allowed to continue and worst be defended. Some seem to expect more from the local Dog Catcher, to perform and have more honesty and integrity than your highest levels of government. If the facts as stated earlier sit well with you then we just simply disagree. $14 Billion in training a future enemy and $7 billion a day wasted to never be returned all for lies.

Thanks Dena ...... Unfortunately you’re correct!

Dena ..... I just remembered! Didn't the Vice President use the term "Go Fuck Yourself" when asked the question “How did the Clinton Military performed in Iraq". Instead of praising the young Men and Women of the great U.S. Military for their rapid victories he took the low road and they all continue to this today. These Men and Women deserve better leadership and direction than an Administration that only says “ My Bad!” when incompetence comes to light. No one gets fired. Talk about being held to a higher standard.

You might note we still have troops in Germany, stationed there since WWII...Let's see how many years ago was that?

You Dems have been fighting the war on poverty since LBJ was in the White House..Hmmmm how many years? How many Billions? I don't hear you calling to bring the troops home and stop spending money on that lost effort....

Tony W said...

Anonymous ... a political party was never mentioned and no one said anything about bringing the troops home. It's never Ok for elected officials to abuse power and commit crimes no matter what party they belong to. A Country was destroyed on made up information! Lives and property was destroyed without any compensation. Iraq's oil was to pay for the war. The oil has been pumping for almost 2 years 24 hours a day. Where are the profits going? Why are we paying for this? A whole army of torrorist could walk across the Southwestern boarder of the Unites States unchallenged. I don’t care what little letter the person has in front of their name someone needs to be fired! Today! What do you call a free people that constantly vote against their own self interest to avoid saying “I was wrong”.

What's so wrong with using "fuck"? It's direct. It's blunt. It gets across meaning fast. If I say "Fuck Bush", you know for sure that I do not like him. If I say "We're Fucked", you know for sure that America is going to pay. Tony keep it up. Good post.

Well it's easier to get Iraqi oil than it is ANWRs.

USA officially joined WWII on the side of the allies in 1941, after Pearl Harbour. But, they'd been sending supplies across the Atlantic since the war started. Business is business, and there's no business bigger than war business.

Unfortunately, most of the money won't be seen by the Iraqis or the US public. No, most of the wealth is being funnelled into Corporate America. The rich get richer.

The thing about wars, is that it gives a temporary boost to the economy (military industrial complex). But, in the long run, any war is devastating to the economy. Money that could have been used for economic growth, is instead funnelled into a black hole.

The US Government is gambling. They're gambling with the taxpayers money. The bet? That they can introduce a stable government in the Middle East, one that will be pro-US (aka lapdog), and help pave the way forward for future preemptive strikes on oil rich nations.

Now, the problem is, even if you get rid of Bush, what can you do? You can't just withdraw and hope everything turns out right. The hole has already been dug. Prepare to live with the ramifications for years to come.
